Security and Confidentiality

The TaurusQuest delivery centre network is ring fenced by firewalls that control access, protect its databases, detect intrusion and provide logical security.

The delivery centres have IP/VPN bandwidth through two different paths from two different local vendors. Dedicated high-speed private leased lines connect the two centres. The file servers and email servers are located in a professional hosting service in the United States.

Whilst TaurusQuest has state of the art information security in place, we encourage our clients to keep their systems (servers, computers and software applications) in their premises; ring fenced by their firewalls. TaurusQuest access the systems remotely, reading your data and executing the accounting or other processes. We prefer not to download or store your data. TaurusQuest connects to your network through an encrypted data tunnel that allows intrusion free secure transmission of data and document images.

Likewise, we prefer that you handle your cash and authorise calls on your bank accounts. TaurusQuest will prepare bank disbursement advices etc., and present these to you for your authorisation and execution.

TaurusQuest has policies and practices to uphold the core principles of information security. The delivery centre networks are ring-fenced by firewalls that control access, protect the databases, detect intrusion and provide logical security. We maintain, anti-virus and anti-spyware software, access control lists, and enforce “least privilege” user access. We use open standard encryption. We access your systems through Citrix/Terminal Server software wherever possible.

Although we want to serve you indefinitely, we ensure you do not suffer if you disengage us. From a systems/data perspective, all you need to do is simply deny us access to your systems and connect alternative resources. You are in control.

Employment contracts covenant the employees of our service provider associates to respect your IP rights and data confidentiality. This covenant continues to apply after the contracts terminate. Regardless of where we deliver our service, we agree to comply with the US and UK laws on intellectual property.

We have a Segregation of Duties policy in place and we discourage our employees from sharing confidential data, process or plan with our employees serving other clients.

Our business continuity plan provides for contingency procedures in the event of any serious threats to the continuity of our business operations.
